After endless hassles with Telkom ADSL I moved my ADSL over to Afrihost. A few hours after this was completed, my Telkom phone line went completely dead. I'm still paying Telkom to provide a phone line and phone calls.
Any idea what could have caused this?

From this article on Techcentral, it states that your line transfer can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Best to ask Afrihost support to keep you informed of progress. Read the article for how the process works.
It is poor form for them not letting you know about this before hand but also uncommon for other providers also not letting their customers know.
