I upgraded from a 2mbps line with another ISP to a 4mbps under the Home Unlimited option with Telkom, but emails won't send from smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net.
The puzzling thing is that all my email accounts on Microsoft Outlook send fine from my previous ISP smtp server setting, including the new Telkom email address I got as part of the Home Unlimited subscription.
The context is that I got a call from Telkom to say the upgrade had been completed and when I asked what to do to switch from the previous ISP to Telkom, the reply I got was that all I needed to do was to reset my router, so I switched it off for a while and switched it back on. The download line speed went up to over 3mbps but the upload speed was only about 0,4 mbps. I phoned the Telkom technical assistance line to get the outgoing server address and then went about setting up the new telkom email address which gave problems. On the Telkom chat line I got confirmation that I was running a 4mbps line but that my Telkom email address hadn't been properly activated and that this had been rectified. From that point on, I at least got the new Telkom email address working on the old ISP outgoing server setting, but no further than that.
Any guesses on what to do next to get smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net working as the outgoing server on my email accounts set up in Microsoft Outlook?

Hi @hbenkenstein, another question, when you are sending, are you definitely connected with your ADSL? and not perhaps a mobile network?
Try either smtp.saix.net or smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net (port 25 with no SSL or Authentication ticked).
If you are connected with another network, then use their SMTP (example MTN or Vodacom etc...)

This is what we use for my wife's smtp information for her telkomsa.net account:
smtp server is smtp.dsl.telkomsa.net
Outgoing Server tab, SMTP requires authentication is UNTICKED
Advanced tab Outgoing server is port 25
encrypted connection is None

Please excuse my ignorance but how and where do I go to view the smtp information. I am not an IT person and outgoing mail been working fine for years. My mails have not been received by recipients in last couple of months.
Please help me!

Hello something's not correct with this because if your username & password is not correct you would have NO Interent connection.
You wouldn't be able to receive or send email or do any Internet browsing; video streaming etc
