Thanks cat66, it good to know I'm not alone. I got through to the Telkom helpline and they confirmed that a lot of people are experiencing this problem.  It started after their server had some trouble and went down for a while.

OK, that is good to know, I was going to get around to phoning them, but since they are aware of the problem, nice to know I dont need to do so.
