Terrible connection and speed problems

Good day

I used to have a very stable 10mb line. Sometime last year I got a call from Telkom offering an upgrade to 20mb. Done! Its stable and very quick.

At the end of last year The Troubles start. Disconnecting multiple times a day.

Hours spent on hold for port resets and even a visit from a nice OpenServe tech with Telkom clothing.

The problem does not go away but its better.

Eventually I decide to downgrade back to 10mb.

1st the call center tells me I cant have 10 only 4. This after being on 20 for some time.

A few more calls and Im paying for a 10mb line. Syncing at 6398kbps.

Line attenuation 26.5db down and 16.1db up
Noise 20.3 down and 16.1 up.

Stable at least, but frustratingly slow.

The Trouble started again!

Hi @DDuck82, if you havent yet, please use these options to report a fault on your line - 

 

 

  • Log and Track a Fault online
  • Reporta fault via SMS:    SMS "SERVICE" and your landline number to 30591. (SMS at no charge.)
  • Contact us on our Social Media Channels

 

 

  • Chat to an Agent (an online chat with a Telkom representitive)
  • Call the Call Center
    • Mobile: 081180 (free from a Telkom Mobile phone)
    • Home:   Sales - 10213  & Service - 10210 (free from a Telkom landline)
    • Business: Sales - 10213 & Service - 10217 (free from a Telkom landline)
