My location (-34.012009, 18.490720)
Across the road (-34.015993, 18.494453)
Surrounding (-34.022822, 18.486643)
Everywhere around me i have VDSL and FTTH.
My question , why are we not covered why can i not get VDSL or FTTH ?
Our 10MB lines only sync at 6MB max.
Opposite my road we have fibre running up the entire Ottery road.
Openserves map now shows that there is FTTH being rolled out in the area and only in the locations across the road and surroundings as stated above.
Could i please get and indication on what the plan is for the area in the near future.
As you can see we are surrounded by FTTH/VDSL

SFW - who is the contracted installer for your area? Check their website, register your interest and check if they show minimum numbers required.
On google maps the location you have provided is un-inhabited and undeveloped (maps data says 2015 so the map is pretty recent). If the location given is a security decoy - well done to you! good move - never share such informatoion on a public forum. If not, surely Telkom will not bring FTTH to a picnic site LOL
Your best choice is LTE, and you can move around with it to follow the cool shadows hahaha.

This is a question posed at Telkom unless you have inside info , there are alot of conflicting answers.
Hence me going through all the trouble and wanting to know why everything is happening around me in terms of upgrades.

@SFW We are constantly upgrading our network across the country, including ADSL/VDSL & FTTH as well as mobile with LTE/LTE-A. We are bringing the network and fibre closer to the customers by installing next generation MSAN equipment. Bear in mind though that this all costs a huge amount, and SA is a large country. Over the next 3 years we plan on passing 1 million homes with Fibre, but it all takes time.

Thanks for the reply.
If you look at above pic as per Openserve the areas around me are be upgraded they are a stones throw away.
Why would we not be considered is the question

@SFW it is still early days in the FTTH rollout, but will be picking up steam, dependant on budgets in various financial years. For that reason, register your interest, as there is always feasibility that is taken into account.
