TELKOM SIP TRUNK - FREEPBX

Hi,

I am looking for the correct settings to use with FreePBX on Telkom SIP Trunks.

I have managed to set everything up to the point where I can receive calls via the Telkom SIP line but can't make any calls.

The correct settings is required for outgoing calls.

OK, I have found the problem. Some of our SIP Suppliers require a "Asterisk Trunk Dial Option" be set to trwW.

Telkom requires it to be twW for anyone having issues with dialling out.

Outgoing:

Type=peer
qualify=yes
Insecure=port,invite
Host=[Telkom Hostname]
dtmfmode=rfc2833
Disallow=all
context=from-trunk
Allow=g729:60,alaw:20 (Telkom only except calls at ptime 60ms for G729 & ptime 20ms for alaw)
secret=Your password you have set on the My Telkom Web page under SIP Trunks
username=2711xxxxxxx
Fromdomain=[Your Domain Name] (As supplied by Telkom)

 

Incoming:

Qualify=yes
Permit=[Telkom Hostname]
secret=Your password you have set on the My Telkom Web page under SIP Trunks
Insecure=very
Fromuser=2711xxxxxxx
Fromdomain=[Your Domain Name] (As supplied by Telkom)
dtmfmode=rfc2833
Disallow=all
context=from-trunk
Allow=g729,alaw (You need to be able to except any ptime ms Telkom send you)

 

Register String:

2711xxxxxxx@[Your Domain Name]:[password]@[Telkom Hostname]/2711xxxxxxx

 

Hope this will help someone else looking for the details to setup a Telkom Trunk in FreePBX.
