I have been trying to cancell my Telkom contract for over four months , everytime i call i am told that i must wait for a consultant to call me. its been four depressing months and still i am not helped. unfortunately the last option is to go the leagal route, i was not hoping for this but now i have no choice.

Provided your fixed service agreement had expired when you submitted relevant cancellation docs it should have been done by now.
You might find some possible options to try in these community posts :
If none of this helps and you haven’t already done so, log a dispute with accounts as you’re no longer using the cancelled service , and post the details with supporting docs & refs on a Telkom media support channel - they’re most effective for rapid response and problems resolved satisfactorily in good time.
