You’d need to visit a Telkom store together with person/s taking over your contract/s with IDs , proof of addresses, etc.
I gather they can usually transfer contracts same day when both parties are already Telkom subscribers, but ‘new’ subscribers taking over your contracts would have to first go through the usual ‘ new customer' ’ vetting processes. (not sure how long that takes.)

You’re welcome… sorry just spotted your update very late. Just to let you know I’ve seen many instances around the net where Telkom customers have changed LTE contract ownership at the stores . ( e.g. someone gets new fibre installed & another person takes over their existing LTE contract)
Apparently it’s a fairly quick process once standard ID & vetting requirements are met.
So I wonder if Telkom office also gave you the wrong info . Here’s the application form on their website - maybe worth a try before you give up?

referring to the above question, would it be possible for the new owner to be a student, but, with the parent signing off as surerity that the account will be paid? as obviously one can not provide a payslip

Sorry but can’t help much re Telkom service enquiries ( we’re customers in the forum).
Visit a Telkom store and see what their consultants can do for you. If your parents have an active Telkom account perhaps it’s possible for them to order on your behalf.

Our Telkom account is on my husbands name: J B M Knott Id Nr 4111225003004. He died in 2012. I his wife, Lydia Knott Idnr 5206150020087 just carried on with the account. The e-mail is already on my name email@example.com. To change to the cordless sistem it is neccessary to put the account on my name. Is it possible to to the change of owrnership over the internet.
