I have a TELKOM LTE Capped service. Since last night I am no longer able to remotely connect with RDP to my home PC.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Perhaps recent RDP windows update / patches are blocking you - articles here might be useful :-
“The Microsoft advisory also mentions two planned actions to address the vulnerability. On April 17, 2018, an update to Microsoft’s RDP client “will enhance the error message that is presented when an updated client fails to connect to a server that has not been updated." And on May 8, or perhaps later, “an update to change the default setting from vulnerable to mitigated" will arrive.”

Thank you for your reply.
I have a dynamic IP through Telkom LTE combined with DynDNS. Even if I use the raw IP I am still unable make remote connections.

Thank you for your reply.
When connected to my local network, wired and wireless, it works like a breeze. As soon as I remotely connect to my Dynamically allocated IP my connection times out. I have turned off my modem and router firewall for a few minutes just in case this was a potential block.

I think this is relevant:
They might now be blocking your incoming connection.
I tried to phone Telkom today as since this change I am having endless problems logging into consoles with token problems etc
Restarted modem etc etc and when I spoke to Telkom they told me to restart also and then they couldnt help me any further ... I must phone back! They on a new system and couldnt escalate problem, great.

1. The issue turns out to be blocking of Inbound connections to comsumer endpoint connections aka Telkom LTE. This article confirms my suspicion: https://mybroadband.co.za/news/cellular/259519-telkom-internet-apn-changes-implemented.html
2. I have also notice that numerous websites regards this connection as spam-like as the http and https requests comes from multiple public IP's in a matter of split seconds.
3. IP authentication sensitive sites like cPanel and Webmail kicks you out if your IP suddenly changes.
Will Telkom provide an unrestricted APN any time soon? Probably not.
In conclusion, this change in the supply of internet has rendered my 2 year contract useless. Thank you Telkom.

Thank you for your contribution.
4 calls in 48 hours and I am yet to find a support agent who understands my query about remote access, or inbound connections.
My last call to them they stated that their system is down for the next three hours and that I need to call back.
I will keep posting if I get any wiser on a path around this obstacle.

Gathering from your reply, I think this may help you too.
Without any prior paperwork or provision with Telkom, I am able to confirm that my remote access to my modem is restored by making a simple change to my modem settings.
Hop onto your router's web GUI and navigate to Network Profile management page. If "telkominternet" or "internet" already exists in the APN (Access Point Name) text field, wipe the characters and replace it with "unrestricted".
I hope this helps.
Let me know if you need further clarification.
