Sim not deactivated after 90 days

In 2014 I contracted Telkom for an ADSL line. At the same time they gave me a sim card, which I did not ask for, sign for or activate.

Five years later I threw it out. Someone found it in the dustbin and started using it. They have run up a bill which Telkom thinks I am liable for. That sim card should have become dormant after 90 days of not being used.

I have made many call to Telkom and visited several stores to try to sort this out with absolutely no success at all. Not surprising.

I have been handed over to attorneys for collection. I will now go and open a fraud case against Telkom on recomendation of the attorneys.
