Online updating LIT media box TVB-100

When trying to check for updates (via the online updating button): it tries to check for updates, but the just displays the following error message:
"Check failed!Check your OTA Service Argent"

 

Please confirm how to check whether the box is up to date, and how to install any updates. Please note this is not for App updates, but the actual software of the device. 

 

Ethernet connection is plugged in and working.

I tried this last night, with the same result. Is the LIT now an orphan child, or is there a LIT product manager somewhere in Telkom who could shed some light on this?

I have to agree.... Apps have become ever more unstable on this older Android version. Netflix is still unsupported.

 

Please Telkom, release an update for the TVB-100

My media box worked excellent until a view weeks ago, then it suddenly started to freeze when switching between videos on You tube. I suspect it has to do with upgrade issues.  I also would like to know about upgrades.

My box showed a message about a update available for the first time ever last night.

Did it this morning.
Looks like Netflix is now part of menu!

That’s great news! Except... I cannot seem to access the update.
I have been running a sideloaded Netflix 5.3.1 app - not recommended, but a
workaround of sorts. I wonder if that’s my problem?
Can you post the new updated version numbers? Android TV and Netflix please.
Is there a site we can download the new update from perhaps? Telkom
moderator pretty please?
All help welcome. Or should I just junk the TVB-100 and get a real
supported media streamer?

hi mine also showed update avaiable by gave error message when i tried to update,called Nology they asked me to leave my box swtched on and they will push update its been 4 days still no update

I updated my TV-100 box and it does not allow me to unblock unknown scorces - there is no place to tick this anymore....what can I do because I want to load some other apps on my device.

I updated my tv -100 box now it say MODE NOT SUPPORTED, can some1 help please

That message is coming from your TV, not the LIT box. If you can find a TV that works with the LIT, do a reset on the LIT.

If not, try turning TV and LIT off (Eskom can help with this!), and then restart. Googling "Android TV mode not supported" produces a bunch of hits on other hardware.
