How to avoid scammers

Phishing is a fraudulent way of sending emails to unsuspecting users pretending to be from a real company in order to get personal information such as banking details and passwords.

Telkom will send you an invoice or a statement via email as an official bill statement but will never:

Send you an invoice or statement as a screenshot in an email

Send you an email from a ‘.net’ email address


In this instance, it is an act against an individual or groups of individuals with a motive to cause harm, or loss by pretending to be a reputable company.

If you have been communicating with Telkom about a query, it will either be on the official Telkom Twitter page (https://twitter.com/TelkomZA), Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TelkomZA/) via private message or phone call or email.

Telkom will never:

Contact you via an unverified page or a personal Facebook or Twitter profile

Contact you via WhatsApp

Request deposit payments, credit card or baking details


Please be vigilant at all times to avoid being a victim of these scams

Telkom itself is a scam lol... idk about you guys but I’m tired of getting Fxcked in the azz by this company.. Every two weeks, MoreNice: “This is currently unavailable “.. when I change locations ( PTA to Joburg) it says TelkomSA-R !!? Ok but I’m in the city , is there no network coverage there!!? .. Allnet data is suggested, so you buy 25mb for R7.. but MoreNice 800mb for 3days R12,30.. I use to get 1gig for R10 which lasted 7 days..
Now prices are just going up, soon I won’t have a reason to keep using this God forsaken Network

Im only here for the data.. why else would I use Telkom..
but the data is never gaurenteed so🤷🏽‍♂️..
How can I make these Mother Fxckers at Telkom feel my pain ... just Fxck the whole company, the CEO, the Board Members, the CTO, the General Manager, the Managers , the whole HR departmen, the whole Marketing department, the investors, the share holders , the supplier , the Creditors and the guy who came up with the Telkom idea. From the bottom of my heart, fxck all of you!

I am so drained with Telkom, on December 31 2019 I saw a debit of just over R1200.00 from my account for Telkom, I was shocked because my account is only R230.00 per month. After following up I learned that someone opened an account in my name and was given two tablets. I reported the fraud,did affidavit and sent it on 02 January 2020, to date I am still paying over R477.00 for something I don’t know and every time I call since then all I am told is that the matter is being investigated and when I ask the turnaround time it is always a mystery. I am getting no help from Telkom and I am so frustrated. How can it be possible that an account can be opened so easily and the person is still using it even today? The person even lodged a complaint now in April on the very same fraudulent accounts and it was resolved but mine lodged in January is still not resolved for over three months. I don’t think I will continue to be a client after my account comes to an end in June 2020. I am exhausted! Telkom doesn’t care about its clients and their call center is equally useless!!
