I would like to port my Telkom landline to another ISP. I am aware that I have to go through the ISP of my choice to arrange the port, however, if the port takes place within a week, do I still need to pay Telkom a 30 day notice period?

My experience is that billing and contracts are not linked to having a service although that was Vodacom.
My guess is therefore you will still need to pay your notice period.
Hopefully you do not need to fight to not get billed beyond your notice period as is a common complaint here.
