Wireless fixed line

I was issued with a wireless fixed line about a week ago.

All seemed well until I tried to make an international call.

Apparently the sim is barred and call center staff are unable to help. 

What now?????

You don't have much of a choice but to keep calling until someone can assist you.

If the SIM is barred from international calls, only Telkom will be able to activate the international call services for you

Maybe also confirm withe the call center staff that you are dialing the international number correctly?

Hi lemondrops,

Many thanks.

Dialing international number as we have been doing 3 times a week for the
past 20 years.

The problem is that I cannot contact anyone who can unbar the SIM. He/ she
just does not exist at Telkom??!!!!!

Probably time to cancel my landline account after 40 years.

So frustrating when call centres don't help , but before you throw in the towel maybe try messaging a Telkom social media team for decent response / feedback. They usually revert quickly.

Problem solved!!!!!

Eventually found a very helpful guy at a Telkom shop that could arrange for the barring to be lifted within 24 hours.

Hi , I recently received my new Telkom Wireless about 2 weeks ago. We tried connecting the line but its been dead ever since.

Was I supposed to reactivate the line? How do i go about activating this line?

I thought that the process was simple and hassle free therefore I agreed to change from the old system to the new.

Please urgently assist.

Hi Veneshree, not that it will make you feel any better, but I am having exactly the same problem.

When I try to e-mail 'support@telkom.co.za' I get 'undelivered returns.

Sorry to hear this , extremely frustrating for you . Unfortunately can’t help much re service issues ( we’re customers in the forum), but try calling 10210 for help , and if no joy message a complaint with your order details to a Telkom media team (below) for decent response & feedback. They usually revert quickly.
